Volunteer to Help Your Neighbors

Neighborhoods are composed of neighbors. Neighborhood associations are neighbors helping neighbors.

Most frequently the jobs we are called to do to help our neighborhoods are easy, but important. Sometimes they are tremendously difficult, as we know from seeing and hearing what some distant neighborhoods go through when beset by disastrous conditions.

Even in the best of times, we neighbors share the responsibilities of helping our neighborhood to be clean, beautiful and safe for our own families and those of our neighbors. We may ask for help from our city and state, but our most important and most reliable help has always come from ourselves and our neighbors.

Our association can provide the cooperation and the structure for us and our neighbors to best and most efficiently help our shared interests. So we volunteer.

We volunteer to serve on committees, to pick up brooms, shovels and rakes, to interface with city departments and commercial entities, to organize activities and social events, to watch out for suspicious activities, to watch over neighbors who may need aid, and to pick up litter that magically appears in our streets and allies.

Please send email to info@mpum.com expressing your personal interest in helping our beautiful neighborhood. Please include your special talents and experience that may be employed and your own feelings about what type of neighbor-helping work or small tasks you might be interested in contributing.

Thank you.
